The school was started with joy and enthusiasm, but there were many difficulties, such as building, furniture, staff, accreditation, etc. but with the determination and luck of the children of Jetpur, all the difficulties were overcome with the cooperation of the students’ parents and benefactors. The Jetpur Education Society arranged the necessary infrastructure and provisions for the school, with Fr. Paul Vithayathil CMI as its first manager. Mr. Butani and Mr. Goswami were instrumental in getting five acres of government land on lease basis. As soon as the land was obtained, the foundation stone of the school building was laid in 1983 with the blessings of Bishop Gregory Karottemprel CMI and Puja Swamiji of Rajkot Ramakrishna Ashram. With the move, Jetpur Education Society was able to begin construction of the new school building. On 01/10/1983 Fr. John Kodankandath CMI-was appointed as the third principal of St. Francis school and he served the school till 07/07/1988.  Fr. John Kodankandath CMI witnessed the completion of the new school building and shifted from rented building to the present one. The present school building at Navagadh on the Porbandar highway was inaugurated on 10th June 1984 by Mr. Ghanshyambhai Oza, an ex-Chief Minister of Gujarat.

On 08/07/1988 Fr. Paul Kannarkat CMI was appointed as the fourth principal of St. Francis school and he served the school till 22/10/1988. On 23/10/1988 Fr. Sebastian Vadakkumchery CMI was appointed as the fifth principal of St. Francis school and he served the school till 06/08/1993. On 07/08/1993 Fr. Joy Pynunkal CMI was appointed as the sixth principal of St. Francis school and he served the school till 07/09/1997. It was one of the saddest days for our school that Rev. Fr. Joy Pynunkal CMI was called to eternal life on 07/09/1997in an accident. So, on 08/09/1997 Sr. Thereslit FCC was appointed as the in-charge principal of St. Francis School and she served the school till 23/11/1997.  On 24/11/1997 Fr. Joseph Vadakedath CMI was appointed as the seventh principal of St. Francis School and he served the school till 09/06/2003. Fr. Jospeh Vadakededath CMI had a vision for the school’s future and saw the need for the higher secondary section. He got support from Sister Thereslit and together they rallied the leaders of Jetpur city, presenting the students’ needs. Shri Rajubhai Patel, Shri Vallabhbhai Patel, Shri Bansibhai Rathi, Shri Chandrakatambai Chhantbar, Shri Sudhirbhai Bosamiya etc were present in this meeting and took the lead and decided to start a higher secondary school. In 1998 Fr. Joseph Vadakedath started the Higher Secondary section of STD 11 Commerce stream.  It is also noted that STD. 11 Science stream was started in the year 2000 in St. Francis School with a magnificent building and all the necessary infrastructures and well-equipped magnificent laboratories.

In 2002, the Gujarat Government conferred the “Best School” award upon St. Francis School, one of the 5 esteemed institutions from Rajkot District, and among the 50 top schools in the state, making a moment of great pride for the school and Jetpur. On 26/04/2003 Fr. Joseph Madhuraveli CMI was appointed as the eighth principal of St. Francis school and he served the school till 05/06/2005. The “Best School” award was accepted by Fr. Joseph Madhuraveli from the finance minister Shri Vajubhai Wala on 19/10/2003. In this way, St. Francis School reached its highest peak. On 06/06/2005 Fr. Paulson Thottathimyalil CMI was appointed as the ninth principal of St. Francis school and he served the school till 31/05/2025. Fr. Paulson developed the KG section and made a New Auditorium for the school in the year 2008. He also leveled the school ground and developed the surrounding places with different trees. On 01/06/2025 Fr. Jomon Vattachira was appointed as the tenth principal of St. Francis School and he continues to serve in that position today. He renovated the school office, administration wing and fulfilled the desire of being a Kids Park in the premises of St. Francis school, Jetpur. The school’s strength lies in its harmonious blend of 1500 students, 50 teachers, 5 Clerical staff and 8 supportive staff members, all working together under the guidance of Fr. Jomon Vattachira (Principal), Sr. Jisha John (vice principal), Sr. Jineeta (Primary incharge) and Sr. Rashmi (KG in charge).
